About GarageHub

Built for the independent shop.

GarageHub is shop-management software for independent auto repair shops: the owner-operator with two bays, the family shop with six, the specialist with a waiting list. Not a dealership system, and not a generic invoicing tool with “automotive” bolted on.

Why we’re building it

Too much of the shop lives on a whiteboard.

Most of a shop’s day is coordination: which car is in which bay, what the customer said yes to, who still owes what, who needs a call back. That information tends to live on a whiteboard, a clipboard and the owner’s memory.

The software that promises to fix this usually charges per user and hides the important parts behind higher tiers.

GarageHub takes the other road: one price, the whole workflow, and records that stay honest. An invoice that can’t be edited after it’s issued, payments that are never deleted, and estimates that keep their own change history.

Principles

What we hold ourselves to

Records you can rely on

Invoices are frozen snapshots. Payments, refunds and credits are added, never edited. Mistakes are voided with a reason, never erased.

Say what it does, not what it might

Approvals are electronic acceptance records, not signatures. Payments are recorded, not processed. Messages are drafted, not sent. That wording is printed on the customer review pages themselves, not buried in terms.

Flag it, don’t block it

Overlapping bays are flagged, not refused. Over-capacity days are shown, not locked. You run the shop; GarageHub keeps the record.

One price

GarageHub Pro is $99 a month for the whole shop: no per-user fees, no contracts. GarageHub Free covers a one-person shop.

How it’s built

Runs in the browser. Records you can take with you.

GarageHub runs in your browser, on the laptop at the counter and the tablet in the bay; there is nothing to install and no separate phone or tablet app. Every save keeps a snapshot the owner can restore (the most recent fifty are kept), and the owner can download the shop’s records as a single file at any time.

  • Who can see and change what is checked on every request, not just hidden on screen: managers and advisors edit the records, technicians read only, and only the owner manages staff, settings and restores
  • Optional two-step verification with recovery codes (switched on per installation)
  • A log of security events, such as sign-ins and staff changes, that is only ever added to
  • Customer review pages are cookie-free and show the frozen estimate or inspection summary only; shop and technician notes are never included
  • Inspection photos are stored on the server where the public cannot reach them, checked for type and size, with a storage allowance per shop
  • No payment processor, parts supplier, labor guide, accounting system or messaging provider is connected
Inspection photo files are stored separately from the workspace file and are not included in the download.

Fit

Who it’s for, and who it isn’t for yet

A good fit

  • Independent repair shops with roughly one to six bays
  • Shops where the owner, an advisor and a few technicians share one schedule
  • Shops that take payment at the counter and want it recorded against a proper invoice
  • Shops that want their records portable

Not a fit today

  • Shops that need card processing inside the software
  • Shops that need texts and emails sent automatically
  • Shops that need parts ordering, labor-guide data or accounting sync
  • Groups with more than one location

“One to six bays” is who we design for, not a limit.

Invitation-only preview

Where we are today

Subscription billing is not connected yet; GarageHub Pro billing is not open during the preview. Early-access shops are set up by invitation, and launch terms will be posted on the pricing page.

Live in the preview

  • Appointments with bays and technicians, bay board and week overview
  • Check-ins, customer and vehicle history
  • Digital inspections with photos and customer summary links
  • Estimates with customer review links
  • Work orders, invoices, payment records
  • Conversation notes, reminders, templates

  • Reports: sales by month, receivables aging, technician time, job profitability

Why it’s invitation-only

We are finishing security review, backup-and-recovery rehearsals and end-to-end testing with representative shop scenarios. The preview has not yet carried real shop data, so until those checks are done accounts are set up by invitation; there is no self-service sign-up yet.

Not built

  • Card payment processing
  • Sending texts and emails
  • Parts ordering
  • VIN decoding and labor guides
  • Accounting sync
  • Online booking
  • More than one location per account
